UK Delivery
All guitars for the UK are sent fully insured via UPS – (Please note that due to the high cost of guitars we do not recommend them to be sent on a Friday for a Monday delivery, as the parcel will be left in the courier’s warehouse over the weekend period. Cancellation and Returns Policy for Mail Order Transactions

Delivery of damaged or faulty goods – When you receive the parcel, please check the packaging. If it appears to be damaged in transit, then sign the carrier’s documents as requested by the driver and add ‘Unchecked’ after your signature. Then immediately check the guitar to see if it is damaged or not. Any guitar that is received damaged or subsequently found to be faulty, please contact us immediately so we can arrange collection and any pending insurance claim. We will then offer a replacement, refund or repair, subject to your requirements and arrange appropriate shipping/collection. Please note that if the goods are damaged or faulty you must inform us by phone and e-mail, within 24 hours of you receiving the parcel so we can make a claim with both the insurance company and carriers – no exceptions.

Returns
If you are buying a guitar from The Guitar Vault Ltd, then you have a 14 day ‘trial period’ to check its suitability. If the guitar does not meet your requirements, then you can cancel the order and return it for a refund, but the following conditions apply:

The term guitar as detailed below includes the appropriate case, gig bag, tags, manual, paperwork, spec sheet, registration/warranty card, accessories, documents or certificates, as applicable, including any strap, polishing cloth or cable etc.

1. The guitar must be returned to The Guitar Vault Ltd within 14 days, commencing from the date the parcel is signed for ‘as received’. It is the responsibility of the customer to return the guitar, including any shipping and insurance costs to The Guitar Vault Ltd.

2. You must inform us before returning the guitar, either by phone or email – no exceptions.

3. The customer has a statutory duty to take care of the guitar whilst it is in their possession. Therefore the guitar and appropriate packaging must be returned in the same condition as we sent it to you. Any loss or damage to the guitar during the ‘trial period’, and an appropriate returns fee will be applicable, or indeed the right to return the guitar maybe invalidated. The 14 day ‘trial period’ excludes the customer from rehearsing or gigging with the guitar. The ‘trial period’ enables you to evaluate the guitar within your home only.

4. The customer is responsible for the cost of shipping any returned guitar, along with any claim arising from damaged or missing guitar whilst in transit, therefore we suggest you include shipping insurance for any returns. The Guitar Vault Ltd will not be held responsible for any damages that might be incurred whilst in transit on the return journey. The condition of the guitar is totally the responsibility of the customer until it is received back The Guitar Vault Ltd.

5. The Guitar Vault Ltd will refund the cost of the guitar, but will exclude any expenses whatsoever relating to the cost of shipping and transit insurance.

6. The above policy only applies to guitars that are purchased via mail order and subsequently sent to the customer. Customers who buy goods in the showroom can fully evaluate them prior to making the payment and as such do not have this return and refund option available to them.

Refunds
Please note that PayPal and Stripe (card payments) no longer refund the transaction fees associated with the sale or return of any product. If purchasing via PayPal or Stripe (Card) please be aware that the 2-3% transaction fee will be deducted from the refund amount (unless the guitar arrived "not as described"). We therefore recommend other forms of payment where possible.

If the customer changes their mind for any reason, other then the guitar being "not as described", then the transaction fees will be subtracted from the refundable amount.

Refunds will be issued once the guitar is back in the sellers hand within 5 days.

Refunds can only be credited back to the card originally used to purchase the goods. Refunds can only be issued once we have received the goods back, and the above criteria is met.

Trades and Part Exchanges

We strive to provide the most competitive prices for trades and part exchanges. However, please understand that as a business we have additional associated costs, which means we cannot offer market value. Sellers should anticipate offers ranging from 20% to 40% below market value - depending on the specifics of the guitar. Private sales are strongly encouraged.

Once a trade or part exchange agreement is established you are expected to ship the guitar to us or, preferably, deliver it in person for our assessment. Once your guitar has been accessed and approved, we will promptly ship out your new instrument. Sellers can anticipate their new guitar will be dispatched within 24 to 48 hours.

Please also note that trades/part-ex transactions are final and we are not in any circumstances able to return a guitar that has been traded in or sold to us.

If you are interested in making a trade or part exchange please proceed to complete our online form by clicking here.

Consignment

The Guitar Vault Ltd provides a reliable commission and consignment service, allowing you to sell your guitar for a set percentage. This percentage typically ranges from 10% to 15%, unless we agree on a different arrangement.

The Guitar Vault Ltd commits to securing the reserve price established by the Supplier for every item sold, and as such will demand the reserve price for the consigned merchandise, with no exceptions.

A commission agreement form disclosing the legal agreement will need to be completed before proceeding with the sale of the Suppliers goods
