Personal Reflection:
This 2010 Custom Shop '63 Stratocaster is a real head-turner. The Sonic Blue finish paired with the heavy relic treatment gives it that extra flair—it's definitely more "over the top" compared to what you usually see on newer relics. It’s got a really unique, worn-in style, and even Ben, who’s seen plenty of guitars, really appreciated this one. The relic job has a distinct aesthetic that isn’t often replicated these days.
In terms of sound, the 3 Custom Shop Texas Special pickups do not disappoint. They deliver that classic blues spank with plenty of bite and growl, especially when you dig in. These pickups are perfect for getting that Stevie Ray Vaughan tone, with smooth lows and clear, bell-like highs. It’s a guitar that sounds as gritty as it looks.
Condition Report:
Although it's a 2010 model, this Strat has had very little playtime. It’s had just one previous owner. The heavy relic work is all factory-original, with no additional wear beyond what Fender intended. The guitar is in excellent condition, both structurally and electronically, and you can tell it’s been well cared for. The neck is smooth, the frets show minimal wear, and the electronics are clean and responsive—ready to go straight into your collection or live setup.
